Clothing Sizes Are BS: At One Store She’s a Size 5. At Another She’s a 12.

When we get to the dressing room and realize the pants in our usual size are way too small, the number on the tag makes us feel like sh*t. But as Deena Shoemaker illustrates in a mic-drop post on Facebook, those numbers are abitrary. How else could you explain the fact that she's a size 5 at one store and a size 12 at another?

Shoemaker, a teen counselor, knows young women face enormous pressure to be thin—and their self-worth can hinge on the size of their jeans. Realizing those numbers are just as messed up as society's beauty standards makes it easier to stop paying attention to clothing sizes and just love who you are now.
