Muay Thai’s the name of the game—but you shouldn't confuse it with the delicious Mai Thai. Greatist contestant Regina will be doing anything but sipping cocktails these next six weeks. Originally from Russia and spending most of her life in Orlando, Regina is dead-set on become a Muay Thai Master. By following a strict training routine at her go-to gym in Brooklyn, Regina's training to be a badass Muay Thai fighter and show us all what she's made of.
Her biggest struggles thus far pertain to endurance—looking at you, row machine—so she's going to have to push herself harder than she’s ever pushed before with a brutal training schedule. The only thing she's worried about in this whole competition?
"Giving up ice cream," Regina says. Still, she's more than excited to overcome the "epic obstacles" like training hours, and "see if in doing this [she] can help motivate some followers."
At the end of the six weeks, Regina will subject herself to a round of drills and skills administered by her Muay Thai coach, so we can measure just how far she's come. Here’s to hoping you don’t run into her in a dark alley.
