If you work out regularly, you should buy a vibrator, but not for the obvious reason (though we’re all for that too). “The device, when set on high, delivers the precise hertz most helpful for relaxing hypertonic (chronically tensed) muscles,” wrote Tim Ferriss in a recent article in Outside magazine. In case you’re curious, he suggests the Hitachi Magic Wand, so you can look like this guy:
Ferriss recommends applying the vibrator to the “belly” of the muscle (not where it’s connects to the tendon) for about 30 seconds. That’s all it takes to loosen tight muscles. And then, well, we’ll leave what else you do with that vibrator up to you.
