Lena Dunham Is Sick of Hearing She's Brave "to Show THAT Body on TV"

As a woman living in the public eye, Lena Dunham often finds herself on the receiving end of threats and insults from online trolls. Most of the time they’re picking apart her appearance—her thighs, her stomach, her teeth. And even when Dunham gets compliments, they manage to be digs about the way she looks. She’s told she's bold and brave to be naked (or nearly naked) on TV with that kind of body. You know Gigi Hadid and Emma Stone don’t hear underhanded compliments like that when they show off some skin.

So after baring it all (and by all, we mean cellulite) on the cover of Glamour this month, Dunham took to Instagram to share a powerful message with the world: “Whether you agree with my politics, like my show, or connect to what I do, it doesn't matter—my body isn't fair game. No one's is, no matter their size, color, gender identity, and there's a place for us all in popular culture to be recognized as beautiful.”

Yes, Lena! Say it loud for the people in the back!
